As you might have already heard, Wellcana (formerly GB Sciences) released two “new” tinctures a few months ago.
They are the THC 600 and the Balanced 300, which joins the other 3 tinctures they currently have available: THC 300, Balanced 150, and CBD.
So you might be wondering how these new tinctures differ from the existing products and if these options are right for you.
Today we’ll break down these new Wellcana options and discuss who might see the most benefit from these product options.
THC 600
The THC 600 is a double concentrated version of the original strength THC product.
The THC 600 has 600mg of THC in a 30cc bottle. This tincture is apparently full spectrum, with naturally occurring terpenes, minor cannabinoids, and flavonoids.
The carrier oil remains an MCT oil, and this tincture is available in cherry, mint, and natural flavors.
Most dispensaries are retailing this product for between $230 and $260 per bottle.
Balanced 300
As you may have guessed, the Balanced 300 is a double concentrated version of the original strength Balanced product.
The Balanced has 300mg of THC and 300mg of CBD in a 30cc bottle with the previously mentioned naturally occurring terpenes, minor cannabinoids, and flavonoids.
The carrier oil remains an MCT oil, and this tincture is available in cherry, mint, and natural flavors.
Most dispensaries are retailing the Balanced 300 for between $140 and $200 a bottle.
Current Users
If you currently go through at last once bottle of the original strength THC or Balanced tinctures a month, there is really no reason not to switch to the THC 600 and the Balanced 300.
In most cases, the dosage will be easier to administer. Since the tincture is double the concentration of the original version, you only have to take half the amount.
Many people will be able to get their dosage within a single dropper, rather than having to take multiple droppers.
Also, if you were not a fan of the cherry or mint flavorings, the new natural flavor may be an option for you.
Cost Sensitive Patients
Patients that previously dropped out of the program due to cost reasons may find that the products are more affordable now.
The price of the THC 600 on a per milligram basis represents a 30-40% savings from prior. Some of the dispensaries have even discounted the Balanced 300 and the original tinctures as well.
Patients looking for a Different Strain or Delivery Method
Unfortunately patients looking for a different strain or delivery method will have to wait (hopefully just a little) longer.
These new products are still tinctures using the same underlying strains as before, so the product performance, in terms of effect and duration, will be similar.
